🍽What Do I Serve With This Casserole Dish?

Fresh Fruit Medley

Balance the richness of the Pigs in a Blanket Casserole with a refreshing fruit medley. Combine slices of kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, and oranges for a burst of natural sweetness that complements the savory dish. The vibrant colors and juicy flavors will add a refreshing touch to your breakfast plate.

Crispy Hash Browns

Who can resist the crispy, golden goodness of hash browns? Pair your casserole with a side of these beautifully fried potatoes. Their crunch adds a delightful contrast to the softness of the casserole, making every bite more interesting and enjoyable.

Yogurt Parfait

For a lighter touch, consider serving a yogurt parfait. Layer creamy Greek yogurt with granola and honey, then top with fresh berries. This not only enhances the nutritional value of your breakfast but also provides a pleasing blend of textures and flavors.

⏲️Chef's Tip

The Magic of Puff Pastry

Puff pastry is incredibly versatile and makes this Pigs in a Blanket Casserole extra special. When using puff pastry, always ensure it's thawed but still cold to the touch. This helps in achieving those beautiful, flaky layers that add a delightful crunch to your dish.

Perfecting the Egg Mixture

The egg mixture is the heart of your casserole. For a creamier texture, use full-fat cream in your whisked eggs. The addition of grainy mustard and paprika enhances the overall flavor, giving each bite a subtle kick that's both warming and delicious.

Baking to Perfection

Timing is crucial when baking your casserole. Preheat your oven to 190C/375F and ensure it's fully heated before placing the dish inside. Bake for 45-55 minutes, checking occasionally to ensure the top doesn't brown too quickly. A perfectly baked casserole should have a golden crust and a set, creamy interior.
