🍽What Do I Serve With This Casserole Dish?
Fresh Green Salad
A fresh green salad is the perfect companion to BBQ Chicken Pot Pie. The crispness of the greens complements the richness of the pie, creating a balanced meal. Consider a mix of arugula, spinach, and romaine, tossed with a light vinaigrette. Add some cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, and red onions for extra flavor and crunch.
Roasted Vegetables
Roasted vegetables like Brussels sprouts, carrots, and sweet potatoes are excellent side dishes. They add a touch of sweetness and a variety of textures to your meal. Simply toss the vegetables in olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and roast them in the oven until they are tender and caramelized.
Garlic Bread
For those who can't resist carbs, garlic bread is a fantastic option. The buttery, garlicky bread pairs wonderfully with the savory pot pie, making each bite even more indulgent. You can make garlic bread by spreading a mixture of butter, minced garlic, and parsley on a loaf of French bread and toasting it in the oven.
⏲️Chef's Tip
Use Fresh Ingredients
One of the keys to a delicious BBQ Chicken Pot Pie is using fresh ingredients. Fresh chicken, vegetables, and high-quality cheese will significantly enhance the flavor of the dish. Avoid using pre-cooked or frozen ingredients, as they can affect the texture and taste.
Don't Rush the Sauce
Take your time when making the sauce. Allowing the ingredients to simmer and meld together will result in a richer, more flavorful filling. Whisking the flour thoroughly into the chicken stock and BBQ sauce will help achieve a smooth, creamy consistency.
Perfect the Cornbread Crust
The cornbread crust is a crucial element of this dish. Make sure to mix the batter until it's smooth but avoid overmixing, as this can make the crust dense. Pour the batter evenly over the filling and place sliced jalapenos on top for an extra kick of flavor.
