Hi, what is tomato passato? Is that tomato sauce? I would love to make the turkey tomato casserole but just want to make sure I use the right thing. Thank you
casseroles
Not exactly, they even sell as passata, https://amzn.to/3HPiXPF see here! The good news is that you substitute it with tomato puree! ๐ But if you're really adventurous you can make the passata yourself but it's not tomato season so I advise against it. https://www.recipesfromitaly.com/tomato-passata-recipe/

This looks great and I'd like to try it but I'm confused. In the instructions it says to saute onions but onions are not in the ingredients list. Does this actually have onions and what kind and how much? Thanks
Lindsey Morales
Hi Brenda, sorry about the confusion. I went ahead and updated the recipe card to reflect that it does include onions.

Didn't know what to make for dinner. Happened to have most of the ingredients so i made this tonight. Absolutely delicious. The sauce on this...omg.. I'm probably never going back to bottled sauce. The only substitutions I made was Monterey jack cheese and parmesan cheese intstead of cheddar. Only because i didn't have it. And tomato purree instead of sauce. .2 small cans puree (2:2 puree:water). Will definitely make this again.
