Ingredients
  

  • 600 g 21 oz ground meat (beef+pork)
  • 1 shallot diced
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup long-grain uncooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • ½ cup cooked bacon chopped
  • 1 can 400 g/14 oz tomato sauce
  • ½ cup beef stock
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • basil leaves

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 200C/400F.
  • In a large bowl combine ground meat with shallot, egg, breadcrumbs, rice, worcestershire sauce, garlic, thyme, bacon, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Mix well, form into 9 meatballs.

  • In a large casserole dish mix together tomato sauce with tomato paste, beef stock, salt and pepper. Place meatballs on top and cover with a foil. Bake for 30 minutes, remove the foil and continue cooking for 30 minutes more. Serve with some fresh parm and basil.
