Chocolate Cobbler

Ingredients
  

For the cobbler

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoon dark cocoa powder
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the topping

  • 1 ¼ cups sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups boiling water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180C/350F.
  • Place butter into a 9x13 baking pan and place into a preheating oven just until it melts completely.

  • Meanwhile whisk sugar, flour and cocoa in a large bowl. Pour in almond milk and vanilla, mix until smooth and thick batter forms.

  • Pour the batter on top of the melted butter. Do not stir.

  • Mix sugar and cocoa for the topping, sprinkle on top of the batter, do not stir. Carefully pour boiling water on top.

  • Bake for 35-40 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
